Prof. Henrichsmeyer was the founder of EuroCARE.
From 1971 until 2000, Prof. Henrichsmeyer was the director of the Institute of Agricultural Policy at the University of Bonn. He had been guiding large scale modelling efforts since the beginning of his professional career in the 1960s. During his years at university, he initiated and steered the development of a number of models in EU research projects such as SPEL-Models, CAPRI-Models, WATSIM and IDARA. For more than two decades, he was also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the German Ministry of Agriculture and a frequent consultant for international organisations.
