Overview

The project aims to calibrate the CAPRI model to the latest DG Agri baseline which includes Croatia as part of the EU-28 to facilitate calibration work and trade-related policy impact assessments with the CAPRi model.

More concrete objectives are the following:

  • to be able to adequately simulate market and political effects after the EU enlargement in 2013 with the accession of Croatia

    • aggregation of the new common market and trade bloc of the EU-28

    • extending EU Common Agricultural Policy towards Croatia

    • extending EU biofuels policy towards Croatia

  • update assumptions for EU baseline sugar policy in relation to the abandonment of sugar quotas before 2020
