Dr. H. Peter Witzke

Dr. Witzke is one of the Managing Directors of EuroCARE GmbH. He has worked in academic research at the University of Bonn, where he was interim professor and at the University of Maryland, where he was visiting scholar. His field of expertise includes large scale agricultural sector modelling with calibration and econometric techniques, database development and management for agricultural and environmental variables and policy. In geographical terms his work usually focussed on the EU with modelling systems CAPRI and CAPSIM, the latter mainly developed by himself. In these activities Witzke also gained a broad experience in project and team management in need to coordinate several international partners from different, often multidisciplinary backgrounds.

Dr. Marcel Adenäuer

Dr. Adenäuer is one of the Managing Directors of EuroCARE GmbH. Mr. Adenäuer is a research assistant at the Institute for Food and Resource Economics at the University of Bonn (Germany). He specializes in computer sciences, database management and mathematical modelling. He has been heavily involved in the studies preparing the EU reform of the sugar sector. He has an extensive knowledge of the functioning of the common market organizations in the agricultural sector.

Prof. Dr. Thomas Heckelei

Prof. Heckelei is one of the Managing Directors of EuroCARE GmbH. Since 2003 he is professor at the University of Bonn (Germany) and director of the Chair for Economic and Agricultural Policy. Mr. Heckelei is an experienced researcher in the area of agricultural sector modelling. Among other previous activities in agricultural policy analysis, he was a leading member of the co-ordinating team responsible for the regionalised agricultural information system for Europe (CAPRI). He is an expert in quantitative methods and demonstrated his capabilities through various scientific publications and conference contributions.

Dr. Wolfgang Britz

Dr. Britz is a Senior Consultant of EuroCARE GmbH. Dr. Britz focussed on Policy Information Systems in his doctoral dissertation, and has been involved in quantitative modelling since the beginning of his affiliation to the Institute for Food and Resource Economics at the University of Bonn (Germany) in 1991. Dr. Britz co-ordinates since 1996 the activities around the CAPRI modelling system. He worked as a consultant in the field of agricultural sector models for the EU commission, OECD and FAO. For the latter, he developed a global modelling tool in the context of the @2030 long-term projection exercise. He is a temporary professor of University Bloemfontein, South Africa.

Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Henrichsmeyer

Prof. Henrichsmeyer was the incorporator of EuroCARE and is still Senior Consultant. From 1971 until 2000 Prof. Henrichsmeyer was Director of the Institute of Agricultural Policy, University Bonn. He has steered large scale modelling efforts since the beginning of his professional career in the 60ies. During his years at university he has initiated and steered the development of a number of models in EU- research projects: SPEL-Models, CAPRI-Models, WATSIM, and IDARA. For more than two decades he was Member of the Scientific Advising Board of the German Ministry of Agriculture and a frequently consultant for international organisations.

Dr. Arnim Kuhn

Dr. Kuhn is a Senior Consultant of EuroCARE GmbH. Mr. Kuhn combines modelling skills in general and partial equilibrium modelling for agricultural trade policy analysis with a broad experience on the farm level. During his doctoral studies at the Center for Development Research in Bonn he analysed the impact of transaction costs in domestic food trade in Russia using a multi-regional CGE model. He is responsible for the World Agricultural Trade Simulation Model (WATSIM) at the Institute of Agricultural Policy in Bonn. Apart from his policy modeling work at Bonn University, he is involved in consulting missions on training and policy advice in Russia and Ukraine.

Dipl. Inf. Andrea Zintl

Mrs. Zintl is a Senior Expert of EuroCARE GmbH. Mrs. Zintl has been working since 1987 on the development of complex software systems for agricultural sector models. She has designed technical concepts of information systems and is responsible for their implementation, i.e. maintaining and updating of existing software as well as the development of new software. Her continuos work with agricultural sector models provided her with considerable knowledge about agricultural sector analyses and statistical methods.
